Exterior Dimensions was established by Russell Smith in 2002. After 15 years of being a carpenter, Russell wanted to be involved in projects where he could set the standard. It wasn’t in his nature to compromise on quality and workmanship to fit into budget - less than his best didn’t sit well. So, he embarked on a new venture, creating a different dimension in custom building - one that provided true value for money.

His first project, an addition/renovation at Henley Beach, won “Excellence in a renovation or addition” at the 2002 Master Builder’s Awards. Since then, Exterior Dimensions has grown to become one of Adelaide’s most trusted (and awarded) boutique builders.

Exterior Dimensions do all kinds of building projects, large and small, and offer a complete range of services:

Plan/Design:

We create designs that bring ideas to life. They will impress and excite. But most importantly, they work to your budget. If you already have designs drawn, please bring them to us - we’ll be happy to work with those.

Approvals:

We take care of all council approvals and represent your interests every step of the way.

Building:

Our passion is building - creating unique spaces and places for people to enjoy. We only use quality materials and are meticulous in our workmanship. Your new home or addition/renovation couldn’t be in better hands.

Interior Design:

We offer bespoke interior design consultancy - there is no limit to your choices (apart from your budget, of course).

Developments:

We also do development projects - you may have a block of land you wish to subdivide or have retirement plans that involve building to free up capital. There’s a whole range of scenarios that we may be able to help you with.

Whatever build you have in mind, we can realise your vision. Because we are a boutique company, we are hands on - everyone on site is known to us and trusted by us. Most importantly, we are accessible - communication is key in every build project - being able to talk directly to the builder provides peace of mind that everything is on track and exactly how it should be.
